How many people do you think are curious about the world around them?

What percentage?

I feel like it’s less than 20%

Like any pareto rule: 80% don’t care 20% do.

Going lower 5%

Most are more curious about the next season of whatever show. I'd put it closer to 10%.

I imagine even less are interested with the world before them, from which we could learn a thing or two

60% if you dont focus on the west

I think it's exactly the number of people who refused the jab + 5% which have just started to question the status quo as they start to realize that something is wrong with the world around them.

GOING TO ROUND DOWN AND SAY 0%

<1%

<1%

I second that.

My neighborhood has probably 1000 homes.

I am likely the only bitcoin maximalist that understand the federal reserve system.

0.1% is the answer

Somewhere around 5%

Let’s say during Covid mask mandates, you went on a plane full of 300 people, not wearing a mask. All 299 would have been ok with you being killed for not wearing a mask.

How do you define "curious around them"? Admiring the beauty of nature, politics, sentiment of society, the life of your friends and kids, and their struggles? Not quite sure what you mean.

I think most people are aware of their surroundings. But in a very specific niche I suppose.

I mean continually asking questions about why things around them are happening, why the world works as it does, why nature works as it does etc…

Not a lot, that’s for sure. Most people seem to enjoy small talk.

In that case, I go for well under 20%. In my own circle, my tiny bubble, 3 of us ask these questions every day. Three out of ~120 people in my bubble. Most people don't care. They don't have the interest or the time. They choose safety over freedom. The security of a life in ignorance instead of a liberated life with responsibility.

To be curious of the world around them they first have to escape the illusion long enough to have the time. Too many people are stuck in a perpetual state of reacting to life rather than planning to live.

My best guess (by age) based by my own percepction:

100% ages 3 to 5.

50% 6 to 8.

40% 9 to 14.

30% 15 to 20.

20% 21 to 30.

15% 31 to 45.

10% 46 to 65.

5% 66 to 75

1% > 75

Might be actually correct.

I'd honestly plump lower.

it's staggering the amount of people I meet that don't seem to have any introspection, or any curiosity about anything.

They're just happy to watch their favourite sitcom, drink a bottle of wine each night, and play the lottery..

As time goes on less and less. Prob 10% at this point.

The 10k daily active users on nostr.

I can only speak about the curiosity of other Americans since my daily interactions really only includes other Americans. Probably only five to ten percent are sufficiently curious about matters beyond what is advantageous to continuing or increasing their comfort. Their comfort innervates their curiosity.

30

Just a gut feel.

5% somewhat. 3% moderately. 1% intensely.

why not 100%

everyone life and enjoy that one opportunity they have

5% if i'm being generous

1-3%, optimistically.
