I've never had trouble sleeping.

I’ve been having wild dreams over the last few months. Every day, I look forward to it.

My dreams are mostly just me digesting my days.

Really, really crazy stuff. One last week was some software launch with huge colourful gantries and loads of people but nobody knew what the product was

Only when the government threatens to kick down your door while you sleep. Or when I forgot to do an assignment in college. Nah, probably slept like a baby tbh

I sleep so soundly that my husband says it's like I lie down and immediately fall unconscious. Usually sleep immediately; can barely recall lying down.

I struggle to not fall asleep, driving, even if it's light outside. And noise doesn't wake me up. Can't even hear hurricanes. Although, I usually don't hear them, even when I'm awake.

It's probably my APD low-key exhausting me, all day. Always been like this, except when the kids were infants. Reading makes me feel more alert, so that's probably why I've always loved to read.

I used to fall asleep almost the moment my head hit the pillow and sleep soundly till my alarm went off. For about 3.5 years, I never went into a deep sleep because my son would have breathing problems, so I was always half awake listening for his breathing. One catch in his breath from the opposite side of the house and I'd be sprinting to his room in the dark. (I learned to clear a path before bed)

Ever since then I've had sleep issues. Sometimes I have trouble falling asleep. Sometimes I wake up in the night. Sometimes I wake early. More than a decade later, I'm doing better, but I still have trouble sleeping. I have to sleep in a perfectly dark room with my "hurricane" (sound of wind/waves/brook/rain) with no motion in bed. I sure do miss my perfect sleep.

It's a gift. I slept with one ear open, while my kids were young, and I was chronically exhausted, but then they started sleeping well and now I'm back to being a bed rock.

My son also sleeps deeply, but the other two are constantly wandering around. I don't hear it, tho.

I am also a sound sleeper. If I have vivid dreams it's usually around dawn, and I don't sleep in often these days, so I rarely remember any dreams.

Yeah, I seem to dream shortly before waking up.

I think we have more REM sleep shortly before waking up. Plus if you wake up from REM you're more likely to remember what you were dreaming about.

Hmm. I don't remember, usually, but I do have great mental clarity, when I wake up. Often wake up to solutions to problems.

I'm glad I don't remember. When I do remember, they're usually either dull and repetitive, or nightmares.

Never understood why anyone would want to remember dreams.

I wanted to learn how to manipulate my own dreams, at one point, but made no progress and lost interest.

yeah, that whole thing is so overrated

you probably remember the movie Waking Life

Never seen it. I have seen Inception, though.

related concepts, yeah... Inception is something else though, they really don't do the whole scifi technical side of it, but they are injecting themselves into other people's minds while in REM

also, i saw Inception at an IMAX theatre, holy crap

key thing i have found in the level of dream recall has been about the level of protein in the diet and the proximity of eating to sleeping, and other things play a role, but it's mostly about how much tyrosine and phenylalanine is in your blood, whether you are likely to wake up

needing to pee - maybe more likely to remember dreams

loud noises right as you are in REM - you will remember the dreams, but maybe whatever made the noise will wipe your memory fast

also, i have had my sleep patterns analysed... i don't quite have early onset REM but the neurologist was fit to throw amphetamines or ritalin at me and having used both and had bad experiences i declined

i don't have that sleepiness problem these days

barely can even sleep anymore... once i wake up and take a dump i can't go back to sleep at all

probably going to try not eating anything until lunch time, in fact, it's driving me nuts

Maybe eat and drink less before bed, so you don't have to get up to use the bathroom?

i'm really in a bad way with drinking coffee and alcohol

i really need to stop both of them, they are stopping my kidneys from recovering

i have already been forced to cut carbs almost completely out of my diet but these are the last two things that i really don't need and need to stop

therefore anyone who does is sick, amirite?

That’s a thing I really envy… Sometimes I have no problem sometimes I just wait in the bed waiting for sleep to come. It’s funny that something that I do everyday yet I made zero progress on how to do it better :)
