Now you’re trying to appeal to the nostr user base to try to bully me instead of directly addressing my point. The fact is that you can’t buy practically anything with bitcoin, it’s a useless “currency”, and also having a public ledger is super dumb. I’m also not a dude btw.
You can buy lots of stuff with it if you look. And Nostr is one of the best places to find people who offer products and services for sats. Especially if you're in the US or Europe.
As for the public ledger, isn't it weird that the current legacy system is a complete black box where the elite politicans spend whatever and however much they want even through they're using public money and the money is obviously being spent on war, military weapons, bankrupt company bailouts, and a fukton of printed paper that has made an entire generation poorer than their parents.
Well said #[6]
Let’s be honest.. it’s not feasible to actually live on bitcoin by any stretch of the imagination. You simply can’t buy everyday goods with it unless you convert it somehow. I’m not even opposed to it, but it’ll probably never happen.
Dude I literally bought food for 7000 sats from local grocery store. And I am in Bulgaira, European Union country.
Hey, here’s a fun fact for you: there’s a WHOLE world beyond the borders of your town, and in many parts of it there are entire communities and a whole country that live on Bitcoin.
I’ve traveled to a few of these places and bought anything from food to transportation, from hotels to fun activities with Bitcoin. And millions of people use it for remittances every day.
Refugees need it to safely preserve their private property; those living under tyrannical regimes use it to avoid censorship; and those who can’t afford to have a bank account use it to get banked and participate in the economy.
Don’t be so narrow minded and parrot silly mainstream narratives. Bitcoin is not a scam.
The idea that refugees are using crypto is laughable tbh. Even in El Salvador where it’s a national “currency”, 90% of businesses haven’t seen a single bitcoin transaction, and that’s according to their own chamber of commerce.
What an elitist take.
First of all, I’m talking about Bitcoin, not crypto.
And second of all, refugees from everywhere around the world have used Bitcoin to escape their countries. Just because you think it’s “laughable” and have never heard about it doesn’t mean it’s not happening.
As for El Salvador…have you been there? I was there twice. Last time I went I only spent Bitcoin for an entire week. Yes, not everyone in the country is using it yet but adoption takes time. Still, Bitcoin is legal tender in the country.
You should consider keeping your opinions to yourself when you don’t have the full facts, let alone the experience as evidence to prove your erroneous point.
It’s not just Bitcoin, public opinion is now being manipulated by the government, so that it is difficult to see the truth of many things, we need information from multiple parties to verify and think independently. It would be best if you can visit the site. I wonder if the Bitcoin crash has caused people in El Salvador to hate Bitcoin? Is the government of El Salvador likely to change their Bitcoin policy?
Which refugees are using bitcoin? Those ppl are so extremely poor they’re literally living in horrific conditions, in camps with tents among tens or hundreds of thousands of other impoverished ppl eating rice and scraps every day. You need to snap out of this daze you’re in and come back to reality.
But yes, I’m sure you can use bitcoin at bitcoin conferences in foreign countries while you’re on holiday.

Wow, your ignorance is showing.
You’re assuming that all refugees are the same, that they have nothing and live off scraps. Ever heard of political refugees? Again, so elitist.
The one that needs to snap out of that (hateful) haze is you, and accept that people around the world are using Bitcoin every single day. I’ve seen it and experienced it first hand. I’ve traveled to these communities and lived off Bitcoin myself.
How many Bitcoin circular economies have you visited?
You bot Sir, are an idiot👍🏻
The problem may be that YOU have never met a refugee in your life. And therefore you can't imagine that they have very different backgrounds. The conditions in many refugee camps are indeed inhumane, but many refugees come from completely different backgrounds. They have studied and had businesses in their countries of origin
Bitcoin is a store of value.
You can buy everything with Bitcoin. So, that statement is simply false.
USD is a ledger. We have no control over it either. The government can add more to the ledger when they deem necessary. This lowers the value of the currency. This is happening as we speak and will continue accelerating because we are in a currency war. All physical US dollars are liability notes for the government that are recorded on the ledger. There are minimal physical dollars in the system. When you see US electronic “dollars” take over the system you’ll be too late to understanding monetary systems to save the value of your energy (your fiat). Good luck.
You always bully nerds when I'm busy.
Looks like he got enough reports filed against him that his content doesn't show now 🤔 🤣🧡💜
