Happy 4th!
I will tell you all something that will hurt your "patriotic" (bullshit) feelings: YOU HAVE BEEN LIED.
The 4th of July was the biggest heist against freedom disguised in a "liberation"...
The purpose of the U.S. Constitution was to dupe the people into imagining legitimacy to a new ruling class.
The con-stitution is not "ours".
It never was. It was a lie from day one, designed to give the illusion of "representation" and "consent".
The lie worked so well that it was heavily copied in the constitutions of the worst tyrannies in history (Chine, USSR, N.Korea etc).
The "con-stitution" document is the arch enemy of freedom, not its protector.
👀
The Declaration of Independence is 4th of July
That lead to so called con-stitution...
Fair enough, and it's not like most Americans are making that distinction anyway.
most muricans don't even know what does it means 4th of july...
Most Americans literally can't find America on a map.
Your confidence in human beings is laughably high
Serious question, though, what do you view as the ideal situation and where/when has your ideal situation existed? I'm guessing you feel no government at all is the ideal (?). If that's so, when and where has that worked out?
Just because your were taught in schools that anarchy never "worked out" it doesn't mean anarchy is not "working out".
The true state of things in nature is pure anarchy, including people's behavior.
If you love so much statism and government, please explain this basic: why would I have to obey somebody's else rules over me? Am I a slave?

Thanks for your response. Let's think this through...
First, yep, the state of nature is anarchy. That gets taught in school...Thomas Hobbes, Leviathan, 1650s I believe. (Hobbes went on to describe that state of nature as pretty horrible too.)
You ask why you would obey somebody else's rule over you. The simple answer is because of power. The graphic emphasizes that it is "wrong", and that's fine for you to make that judgement. But, here's the rub, I'll use a scenario. You're walking down the street, totally free and determined to not obey anyone. A gang of 10 strong men jump out, demand you hand over your money. This is wrong, so you say, "No." They commence to beating you up and they take your money anyway. Like it or not and despite your opposition, you still obeyed their rule. So, why would I obey another's rule, because of power. It may be wrong, it may not be "legitimate and lawful" like the graphic says, but that is the answer.
>Just because your were taught in schools that anarchy never "worked out" it doesn't mean anarchy is not "working out".
You won't like this at all, but this statement is exactly the argument that communists make. I know you despise communism, rightfully so, which makes the statement ironic. Communists today, if asked why it never worked, will typically answer something like, "No, communism, true communism as it is supposed to exist, never took place. The countries that tried it were all corrupted versions of communism. True communism never got a chance." And so, the phantom true communism is out there, mysteriously in the never-been-tried land waiting to be carried out and all will supposedly be perfect.
You do realize that in your statement "Just because..." one could take out the word "anarchy" and substitute in "communism", and the argument is the same, right?
When and where is anarchy working out? That wasn't answered.
You do not obey because of others "power"... You obey because you are afraid of consequences of not obeying.
Live free or die... trying.
Anarchy works all around all the time. Only that people are too busy with believing into government authority and power and do not have time or willing to see how anarchy works.
The belief in a government's power is the biggest lie and superstition ever existed.
If people will stop this stupid belief, nobody will have such "power" over them.
>When and where is anarchy working out? That wasn't answered.
That's like asking when and where freedom worked out, when you are still a slave living under a government permission.
Did you tried to live free? I mean really free, not asking for permission for anything you do in your life.
Nowadays you go and ask for a licence for almost anything you want to do... getting married, fishing, building a house, traveling, traveling with a motor vehicle etc...
But you never stop asking for these permissions. Is that freedom for you?
>Is that freedom for you?
No, at least it's not totally freedom. We know this (again, Thomas Hobbes, the social contract). I hear you about all the licenses. A co-worker of mine had to get a permit to paint his front door a different color! That was an HOA thing, but still, same thing.
Freedom is a spectrum from totally free (anarchy) to total slavery. Personally, I believe sliding completely too far either way is not ideal. In my view, the optimum is to be as close to the anarchy side so as to not have roving bands stalking around and doing havoc. If I had to live in that fear, that's not exactly free either. That's being bound and controlled by fear.
I would argue that people who say "I'm 100% free," are kind of enjoying both sides of the coin. On one side, they do their thing freely. On the other side, they're likely living in a place that has a government and law and order, at least to some degree. I doubt the society is true anarchy. They are likely "under the radar" and not considered enough of a nuisance. If it was true anarchy, the "neighbors" might not be too friendly. If the person became a nuisance, the powers might come knocking on the door.
I know it would be easy to say, "I don't fear them, I can take care of myself, I still wont obey," and maybe that's true. But then, again, if they overpower you with bigger numbers and guns, then you have in fact "obeyed," just involuntarily. A man in jail may tell himself, "I do not recognize your laws and authority to hold me, I'm free." And yet, he's still in jail.
Not sure thus got marked nsfw, hah!
Yeah why did we give up on the original Confederation? Things were going okay without a federal government.
