I use Signal. I have also been meaning to try Molly, a hardened version of Signal, but I haven't had the time.

Yea. I can see why the links could look suspicious. Their website has a few graphics that could help explain SimpleX to people easier. Explaining the lack of identifiable users may confuse some at first š

I wanted to use Molly but it's always a version or two behind. I waited a month for it to synchronize versions to transfer before I un-installed it.

I get it. The state of messaging applications has always sucked. You need to have half a dozen installed to communicate with people.
That should have fallen under mailing laws. You can't peep into people's mailboxes, even if you're just a curious courier, let alone doing it for profit!

Fuck signal. I put in a lot of work to get some family members to join and then they started shit coining.
And now the odds of me getting my mom and sister to join some other Messenger is so small I don't think I'll even try. (I think they even hurt my evangelical efforts for nostr as well).
Even privacy concerns aside, the fact that people use FB and Instagram DMs to communicate baffles me.
I assume all tech companies are doing this even ones that claim to protect the privacy of their customers. There is no privacy on the web. Donāt put anything online that you donāt want others to know or see.
