Bitcoin was designed as a peer-to-peer electronic cash system, enabling trustless transactions without reliance on financial institutions or centralized authorities.

How did we move from decentralization to seeking approval and adoption from the very institutions it was meant to bypass?

What happened ? #asknostr

Capitalists aren't very bright.

Either Satoshi was one and thus not smart enough to prevent this, or he wasn't one but was still too outnumbered to prevent capitalists from flooding his creation and taking over like they often do with their special ability "have tons of kids"

Yea strength in numbers and the psychology of humans always act in ways that feed the vices: anger, greed, attachment, and ego.

Capitalists lol.

Building a system perfectly the first time, or any time, is very very hard.

Greed.

This is how regulatory capture works.

The State loving to appropriate resistance against it for its own benefit. I would also say the lack of privacy features is why you especially see governments adopting it so they can track people.

Institutions attempting to join since they couldn’t destroy.

Yes. Lol

Let’s see how this playes oht

Ya, I just read a story where one of the biggest banks in Italy is now looking to adopt offering Bitcoin as an investment for wealthy clients. This from a country who tried to increase capital gains tax on Bitcoin to 42% a few months prior. What a joke!

What we need is Bitcoin friendly legislation not these old dogs trying to fit it into their existing rules.

As far as I know BTC is a fork of the original Bitcoin vision.

Removing segwit and taproot add on, plus removing BIPs that devs deemed unnecessary has changed the protocol.

You can't trust a changed protocol, but that's what it is. It's why Blackrock suggests they can increase the cap supply..

Because BTC is a wolf in sheep's clothing,

Because it isn't crypto since many years. It is a commodity like stocks, people don't use it for transactions. They use as retirement plan and are willing to do anything as long as the government let's them have some money.

Monero solves this.

The book "Hijacking Bitcoin" tells a fair amount about what happened. That and speculation ruling instead of actually enabling truly free voluntary trade without seeking government or bankster permission or giving them a cut.

The audiobook is on YouTube. Well worth the time. Essential bitcoin was meant to be a cheap, easy payment system. Instead it was captured to be a ponzi scheme.

The 2nd gen of Bitcoiners arrived and they're very confused about what they want Bitcoin to be.

Bitcoin looks like a massive failure these days . Highly disappointed with bitcoin tbh

Sounds like you are ready for the good word of Monero.

Bitcoin is the money of enemies. Working as intended. What did you expect winning to look like, they would instantly vanish like vamps in the sun?

I expected peer to peer electronic cash, personally.

But that's OK. Bitcoin can't be that, and that's fine. It has it's use. For peer to peer electronic cash I have Monero.

Bitcoin is p2p electronic cash. It's not my job to educate you. Do your own research or Have fun staying poor

Lol you guys are so predictable.

Yes I did, unfortunately

Alas Bitcoin only fixes 50% of the world's problems, and quitting addiction rapidly often kills the patient.

KYC

Agree or not doesn’t matter the point is it is an open monetary network. Anyone can join. Bitcoin still works p2p I can still send a tx directly to anyone in the world without anyone’s permission.
