Everytime I hear Brian Armstrong, I feel like he is trapped in 2018. He still talks about blockchaining everything (land, votes, tickets, etc) as if none of these things have been tried and failed miserably.

Those scams are still paying his bills

Brian Armstrong has been just as dangerous to the long-term mission of Bitcoin and sound money as Roger Ver. The difference is instead of trying to change Bitcoin he has gone with a full tilt embrace of the surveillance state and crony capitalism.

The type of person Y Combinator attracts.

I haven't listened to him talk about this, but is it good idea if it could successfully be done on the Bitcoin block chain?

Nope. Not enough space for any of this.

Remember Bitcoin exists to create scarcity of chain space. Most of these applications don't need chainspace scarcity. They need other types of scarcities that don't come from the chain itself.

For instance, the right to vote is a scarcity created, granted and managed by the government, not the chain. When you add it to the chain you suddenly have two scarcities fighting each other.
