Great book! Interesting ideas and helps drag the Overton window to where we should be going - more of that needed

I'm using it as an actual tactical guide 😉

"Okay, I'm building a protocol that is intended to enable markets and private arbitration, I have design questions... ask David!"

I'm making some significant changes right now after feedback on the NIP and to deeply integrate #cashu via nutsack wallets (goal being zero setup and perfect anonymity for new users), but this is a decent overview still: https://github.com/vcavallo/catallax-ui

let me know if you have any questions or suggestions !

Very cool! I was wondering when we’d see this kind of functionality on #nostr

Why did you choose not to build with smart contracts?

I don't see the need when we can leverage human trust/reputationand basic protocols for so much.

also, there are tons of smart contract solutions out there already. this is an alternative. plus a cheaper, simpler, more open and extednable protocol. If someone wanted to add a smart contract layer on top of this and repackage it as a new system, they could.

smart contracts imply barriers to entry and external dependencies. the world has enough of those already.

That's not paperback

it is?

Although i am somewhat perplexed by your lack of interest in something that resonates with everything you seem to say here.

Infrastructure for your ideals...

looks a bit over-wrought and prescribed at first glance. I'm more interested in bottoms up organization from small pieces and thin protocol layers.

Well I am building on top of existing open source products, plumbing together and enriching features, mostly the sharding and governance shown.

The effect of the changes made are profound, changes everything for sovereignty.

Solves the HDD issue and the power drain, TPS is practically limitless.

From a product with a 20,000 tps limit.

I am a startup, solo dev right now.

Forced timeout has caused me to bite the bullet and start looking for collaborators.

Even if you personally do not want to participate, could you please forward/ tag or advise me on who to approach or who may be interested?

I would greatly appreciate that, and possibly millions more will at a later date.

Thanks for your time anyway.

I'll try to look at it more and will keep it in mind as I come across other people working on similar stuff.

I'm not some super important, well-connected person, but I'll help if I can
