cashapp is doing an amazing job of normalizing bitcoin, and helping the masses easily access it.

the round up feature is a great way to get into stacking. as someone who just recently got educated about bitcoin this year, but always has used cashapp, it made bitcoin far less intimidating for me.

kudos to the bitcoin team at cashapp for creating an accessible and smooth ux.

And the absence of any crypto tokens is additional points in their favor

100%! i detest venmo and their abundance of crypto tokens. it degrades bitcoin, and is in bad taste.

I unfortunately have Venmo because my boss uses it (she likes to send pizza money when we're working on long distance projects) It's awful to use and worse it's owned by paypal. They are already constantly trying to push a credit card on me and I'm sure it won't be long before they are pushing the new paypal token even harder.

i may be wrong, but i think i’ve read that they’re working on lightning. would be a wonderful addition, but understandably complicated to implement.

Lightning addy under development now - tricky bit of work and still need to get some clarity on how to best surface this in the experience. We’re all stoked for it tho!

at this point, maybe surface relevant api’s so something like nostr:npub1strjkeqqz3x6uuqzjvefa5dnql0ccl9wpttvmezvvv622uxarl0q99fpjm can exist and devs and clients (as well as internally) could compete for the best way to implement, probably more future proof too.

🔥🔥🔥🔥

I think the UX for withdrawing Bitcoin is terrible but maybe it doesn't look that way to someone who uses cashapp for things other than buying bitcoin
