Today marks 11 years since I quit drinking! Alcohol was a major part of my life. But it got to the point where it was creating unmanagable problems. I hurt a lot of people, including people I loved, and had truly made a mess of my life. So I gave it up, cold turkey, and have never looked back. Giving up alcohol didn't get rid of all of my problems, but it did get rid of all my alcohol-related problems. Here's to another 11 years!

Rock on. Congrats on 11y

Congrats on another year and 11 stacked.

Your willpower is impressive!

Giving up the booze was actually pretty easy. It was making the decision to quit and actually doing it that was difficult. But once I made the commitment, it was relatively smooth sailing.

That’s huge! I just hit 6 years

In my experience, it's all downhill after year 5. I don't even think about it anymore. And I'm able to keep alcohol in the house for when guests come over without any temptation. Congrats on your own sobriety!

I felt “over the hump” so to speak at around a year. At that point it was already clear my life was so much better without alcohol. I never could have imagined my life would look the way it does now 6 years ago. My wife drinks occasionally so we have it in the house too. Never tempts me, I feel like I could never go back at this point🙅‍♂️

Congratulations!🎉

I’m starting with #DryJanuary and will see how long I can go.

Just remember, all that matters is today. Ditching the alcohol is all about deciding that you're not going to drink for today. Tomorrow is another day, and another decision.

killing it,. congratulations!
