I broke 3/4 of my limbs in a snowboarding accident a week ago. I’m doing ok now.

I’ve got one good leg and good hand.

give me your best ideas for passing time on the road to recovery.

Speedy recovery. Feel better.

got any past times that work from a chair? gonna pull out the painting supplies soon, looking for more ideas

Video games is your new best friend.

💯 can’t wait till i can sit at the PC! soon.

Check out Vampire Survivors! Simple, addictive, cheap investment, def could play with one hand and listen to other things in the background 👀

Oh no! 😟 I haven’t been through anything like that but when I had one broken hand and the other arm in a sling I learned how great voice features are. I hope you recover quickly!

I’ve got dictation set up on my Mac and it’s surprisingly awesome!

Right? When this happened we started to look at how #nostr and #damus could implement some of these things too

Wild. Praying for you dawg!

thanks homie. hell of an experience. extremely grateful.

dude.

im not glad that happened. but im sure glad youre ok and recovering ❤️‍🩹

I was wondering about your silence. i didnt think it was because you went all Eval Knievel on us. We need you here.

Youre clearly going to need to watch all Lord of the Rings, read all of Herberts Dune series, and invent a new programming language called “Fremen”.

thanks friend ❤️‍🩹

LOTR is obviously where i begin! programming will come later for sure. thanks for the recs!

Where did you break your leg?

patella and ankle

All the best with your recovery. Audiobooks are a good way to pass the time. Puzzles, reading, playing Cornhole, thumb wrestling. All things I can think of that only require one hand.

Exploring new music, one-handed origami, gesture drawing, tarot reading, solitaire.

thanks Jay!

No problem. Wishing you a speedy recovery 🫂🙏🧡

I have a knee surgery coming up on Friday that will put my leg out of commission for a while too.

good luck on the surgery ❤️

Thank you 🧡

Was just about to suggest audiobooks & podcasts. You might even enjoy practicing different types of meditation techniques. Most common one is mindfulness, but there are quite a few more.

Mindfulness and bodyscan meditations are analogous to release/defocusing your awareness to the periphery of your senses, an opposite of that would be various techniques to cultivate focus on a single object.

Expanding and contracting exercises are both essential (flexibility <-> strength etc)

Ah yeah meditation is the best suggestion 👌

Probably heal a lot faster too because it relaxes the body. My way is the method taught in the Gita. Close your eyes, observe your breath without controlling it, relax your attention between the eyebrows and work your way up to the top of your head. Fun exercise. Great benefits. Stay there as long as you like. Achieve enlightenment. Live a life of bliss.

meditation is what i was looking for, thank you. I practiced daily years ago. I think that’s exactly what i need right now.

Holy shit. Lucky to be alive. Staring at the price of BTC is always a nice way to spend the day.

Watch Yellowstone

already did, partner 🤠

1883 is supposedly really good too.

Ouch I feel your pain!

Not sure if you’re able to draw but that helped me pass the time while recovering from a broken leg. (Still recovering)

Nostr Nests 🪺 were super helpful

(Give cornychat.com a try)💬

Obviously Nostr, podcasts, movies and audiobooks. 🤙

Research and learn something new. (I learned how to draw on the iPad and do simple animations ) 🔬

iPad animations sounds cool! any particular app you’d recommend? I draw in Procreate but that’s all I’ve tried

I have been using Adobe Fresco mainly because my wife already had a subscription

Think its about time to take this baby for a test run now

😂

Brutal, glad it was only the limbs

very grateful 🙏

Wow that’s awful. Wish you a quick recovery!❤️‍🩹

thank you 🫂

Become proficient on a one handed key "board". Very useful even without one hand out of commission.
