I’m glad to see the mempool back to normal. 👍🏻

I made a bet! Ordinals will be wiped out when fees will be going up!

Everything is good for bitcoin sir.

No

Either bitcoin is anti fragile or it’s not.

I think it is anti fragile.

I better have the real Mona Lisa than stupid JPEG onchain of bitcoin 😏

this is what happens when you huff the hopium farts too much.

HoneyBadger bites off Cobra's head and eats it, venom and all

Then rolls over on his back, feet up, and motionless...

Later, waking from his astral dream he stumbles back to carry off Cobra's headless body for his children to eat

HoneyBadger cares not about venom

from the Tales of the HoneyBadger #[2]

IMO anti fragility is not a binary thing. It depends on the whole community also, not only on the software. If wrong ideas spread into Bitcoin community then Bitcoin can become more fragile. I think ordinals and inscriptions are bad: ordinals proposes a way to break fungibility. Inscriptions gives enemies the opportunity to inscribe “bad jpegs” to allow states to forbid running full nodes. That’s an attack vector that I hope is never used but now it exists and is easy. Also it pushes unwanted MB on lots of node users.

I think the “it’s not spam bc they pay the fees” is a wrong idea that hurts anti fragility. Does not kill it but hurts it.

Sounds like you think Bitcoin is very fragile…

Good thing you are wrong 🙂

I don’t think it is. I think anti fragility is a feature that emerges from the software AND the community/ethos of bitcoin, not only from the software. I also think (and hope) it can get better.

Even if the digital art is worth money the ordinal of it is not

Just another way to scam off degenerates IMO.

Yes! Buying NFT on bitcoin is stupid ! You can right click and save ! 1 sat is = 1 sat !

I just listened to the bitcoin.review podcast and now I'm not so sure it's a scam. Don't get me wrong, jpegs are not scarce, but the ordinals are more interesting than I originally thought.

Why would you spend a lot of bitcoin to buy one picture that was created within couple of hours?!

I would not do that, but it seems the ordinal creator wants eth heads to assimilate into bitcoin culture. That's what he said anyway.

I feel like this will be a dividing topic for years to come. 😂

Yeah and I don't know enough about it to have a strong opinion yet, but I feel more comfortable expressing my opinions these days. I had no idea what was going on during the blocksize wars. I was too green back then.

A provable receipt for a digital picture is dumb, I think. But provable receipts for other things could be very cool.

For example, a provable receipt issued by your favorite band that gives you free backstage access to all their concerts. You could use it when the band is in town, and then sell it to the next person in the next town. The band could program a small royalty every time the pass changes hands. Possibilities are limitless.

You don’t need bitcoin for this!

Generally agree. I'm just thinking there may be a use case for high value receipts where it makes sense to secure them on the most secure ledger.

A sat is just data. I think it's easy to make the case that there can be data more valuable than a sat.

No

Wait till the Ordinals folk hear about Nostr badges. They are going to feel 🤪

The most important thing about ordinals is that you cannot prevent them. Code is law.

Ordinals are just an unforseen side effect of SegWit adoption. Polluting purity of Bitcoin protocol is dengerous and should be avoided at all cost.
