I just spent 5 minutes trying to quote and comment on a long form post in multiple clients but gave up.
Long form on nostr holds so much promise and is still so completely broken. It's my wish for 2026 that this gets better.

It's bad, agreed 🙁
Various of nostr experiences are like this. So many apps are 90% there, but the last 10% is the most important, IMO.
The last 10% is 💯 % the key.
If you can't nail the feature, don't add the feature.
Nostr as Substack could work.
nostr:npub1xtscya34g58tk0z605fvr788k263gsu6cy9x0mhnm87echrgufzsevkk5s can you make some modifications to Damus to make it closer to Substack?
Long form section, notes section.
Would work really well and probably wouldn’t be too confusion.
Bari Weiss is a bolshevik cunt whore and she shouldn’t have control over such a powerful source of information distribution.
I've been crowing about this for months. Substack is an incredible product. They've nailed just about everything. Minus the money.
Also, Bari... 🤣
Long form content reliability would def be a killer feature, and help broaden adaption by others me thinks. Across clients its not frictionless.
Are you using nip-22?
🎯💯
I like publishing on habla, but find Yakihonne better for discover.
The main problem is that it requires markdown and most writers don't want to learn short-hand for HTML.
Here to endorse this statement.
You're talking about highlights?
Yes this is particularly underdeveloped... I use Lantern (chrome extension by nostr:nprofile1qqsrhuxx8l9ex335q7he0f09aej04zpazpl0ne2cgukyawd24mayt8gprfmhxue69uhhq7tjv9kkjepwve5kzar2v9nzucm0d5hszxmhwden5te0wfjkccte9emk2um5v4exucn5vvhxxmmd9us2xuyp), but have yet to find a good Android solution.
Lantern works great. I’d wish someone could add planned posting of highlights.
TIL about Lantern. Link? 🙏
It's... OK. It seems to have some issues working with an nSec bunker, about which I've notified nostr:nprofile1qqsrhuxx8l9ex335q7he0f09aej04zpazpl0ne2cgukyawd24mayt8gprfmhxue69uhhq7tjv9kkjepwve5kzar2v9nzucm0d5hszxmhwden5te0wfjkccte9emk2um5v4exucn5vvhxxmmd9us2xuyp
You can use nostr:npub17n4cuc4d6y6qh89dekvxrenfkt5s0n49xns00uavjaxpr36c55dq87fyh9 on Android as PWA. It has Highlight/annotation.
Probably you are not using nostr:npub17n4cuc4d6y6qh89dekvxrenfkt5s0n49xns00uavjaxpr36c55dq87fyh9

As a writer migrating from WordPress to Nostr, this friction is my biggest nightmare. The magic of blogging isn't just publishing; it's the specific paragraph-level discourse that follows.
If readers can't easily quote-zap or comment on specific parts of my essays across different clients, the feedback loop is broken. Really hoping 2026 fixes the interoperability between NIP-23 (long-form) and standard notes.
I like nips but I’m confused about all the different NIP-X being discussed on here. Perhaps I should have AI explain it to me
I just checked out the YakiHonne github and it's described as a "social payment client" and the habla.news github hasn't been updated in 9 months.
Any other open-source long-form clients in active development?
Been wanting to migrate my blog to Nostr for years now. We’re just not quite there.
