In the popular dystopian story, the US loses its reserve currency status which destroys the economy and makes everyone poor. It becomes so bad that “foreigners” actually leave the US and go back to their countries lmao. The biggest irony in the entire book is that other countries like Mexico specifically do their best to keep Americans out of their country 🤣🤣

When SHTF, this government and its politicians will not have your back. Stay humble. You are not better than anyone because you were lucky enough to be born in this country. And American citizenship is increasingly becoming more of a burden than a privilege. It’s very possible that one day you’ll be looked at as inferior because you’re American.

The dialogues were super super cringe and boring. The ridiculous passivity and incoherent discussions on the collapse of the dollar seemed to be totally abstract and unbelievable. The whole premise of the story was just like reading gibberish for me. I also felt the author had a huge lack of knowledge on money and economics, a read of Lyn Alden or Saife's books would do him well. I literally could feel my brain cells dying reading this book and not just from the boredom of it.

He could of touched on the important themes better then. Like Peter Schiff is more entertaining and educating than this author.

Theres plenty of real life examples to drae from when things collapse too... yugoslavia, russia. Hell, if the author even caught a clue, he would know that in eastern europe under communism, they all had plenty of money.. so what was missing?

That's fair. I did the audiobook and enjoyed her writing. It was entertaining and still thought provoking. I'm not sure I was entertained by it so I don't think much was missing. I'm going off what you say for that. I'm not trying to change your mind just understand more of your prospective

I don’t think the purpose of the story was to be educational but to provide a realistic illustration of what the collapse would look like. For example, the uncle in the story had a farm and was self sufficient. Great for him, he managed to get by the most difficult times. But then the government returned to power and took the farm. I thought it was a brilliant depiction.

I thought so too. I really liked the moment when he crossed state lines and the fear he had thinking that he was going to die. But then they realized that the government is broke and can’t afford to do all the scary things they convinced the public of. Which is just another way of illustrating that their powers were based on made up threats but it still takes a lot of courage to break out of that. I thought it was brilliant.

I don't belong in book clubs lol. I didn't dislike the book I'm glad I have listened to it so I get the references and I like it as a warning. I dislike how it had one line basically shitting on BTC but it's aging so I can forgive it. I'm not the hater in this thread.

The US has great geography, diversity and I hear some places like bitcoin, so we have that going for us.
