For those of you who are still on Twitter, I had a long debate thread today with Parker Lewis about Nostr. I'm a big fan of Parker, so I figured I'd share it here for shared learning.

I disagree strongly. I’ve had the opportunity to learn from and interact from him in person. He is a very down to earth guy and I doubt that’s what’s happening.
He has a somewhat conservative approach to new ideas and I suspect that is a factor. He is one of those rare people that never shitcoined once before getting into bitcoin.
I also suspect that he sees a lot of people selling nostr using similar language to bitcoin “nostr fixes this!” And gets turned off as do many others. Because it’s language that shitcoiners often use.

What do you find to be embarrassing? The assessment that they could be arrested is accurate. What do you think would happen if the West went full Mao?
