Have you heard of the combination of shou sugi ban and linseed oil?
No I havent???
Very aesthetically pleasing finish and if maintained should last a long time. I think you have to add linseed every so often, but it’s worth it. I did it for my raised beds and it was much more fitting than chemically treated or raw wood.
