I’m on day 2.

Studies show that on a 7 day water fast you prevent any chances of getting cancer FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE by 87%.

1 day down, 6 to go πŸ‘πŸ»

Woah that almost sounds too good to be true is there an explanation of the mechanism? I know that a lot of bad things happen to the body due to over metabolizing and over eating

I'm about 52 hrs into one.

Took some niacin & then spent 40 mins in a sauna today. I learned that it's hard to meditate in a sauna.

This has been a bit off a detox fast.

I won't be doing a 7 day though - a brisket is dry brining in the fridge. I'll slow cook & smoke it tomorrow.

The best thing about a fast is breakfast. Hunger is the best sauce!

The worst thing is not being able to sleep.

Do you ever get headaches? That always seems to derail me after a couple days, despite lots of water and electrolytes.

I’ve never had headaches on a prolonged fast.. have you tried Himalayan sea salt added to your water? If not I highly recommend it. It could be salt deprivation that’s causing the headache. I get lots of headaches in my non fasting life, btw. It’s the opposite for me.

πŸ‘†πŸ‘†πŸ‘†this. Very good advice. Pinch of salt in water works wonders.

No but I don't give up coffee when I fast, just black tea because I don't enjoy it without milk.

Caffeine withdrawals result in a pretty bad headache for me.

As Buddha mentioned electrolytes (salts) are required to maintain hydration. I usually take a mix of potassium chloride, magnesium chloride & table salt when fasting.

The only symptom I've had this fast has been bile coloured liquid BMs. I figure that's my body's way of eliminating some built up toxins. It might also be from the salt water which is known to have a flushing effect (although not at the amounts I'm taking).

You inspire me baby πŸ₯Ή

You have both inspired me to get back into it πŸ«‚ I regularly skip breakfast but been a while since a longer fast. Did 15 hours β€œdry” but I opted for coffee and will extend it to tomorrow πŸ™Œ

πŸ€™πŸ€πŸ‘πŸ‘ get it!!
