I still don't understand the argument against edits. I only see people giving examples saying "this is why edits are bad" without giving reasons

I'm sorry... at least now you know that edits aren't a reliable way to convey a message. Quoting your own note is a good way to add am amendment.
It’s an incredibly poor user experience for both those familiar and unfamiliar with the edit situation on nostr.
