In all my years of listening to Odell he never disappoints. Can’t wait for Shivers address to go public.
I think Lionel did a great job of explaining how the fragility of our financial system should worry us more than climate change in the short term. And how nothing works once our trust in money erodes.
However, I think her "the government can do anything" point is sloppy thinking. If it could, it never would have allowed the internet to flourish the way it did. It's going to be a lot harder for the u.s. to ban bitcoin than she thinks.

She’s somewhat missable because she doesn’t have hope for the future. Hopefully for Lionel Shriver, if and when she embraces, owns and holds bitcoin this will change. She’s a hoot should feel optimist to live to 2052, not horrified.

The Mandibles is a prescient read for any bitcoiner. Shriver is a bitcoiner, she just doesn't know it yet.

Loved the Mandibles - would’ve been a much bleaker read without Bitcoin. Have found Lionel’s perspective very refreshing in this and other pods. I find it interesting she presents as a Bitcoiner though doesn’t self-identify as one…Could be wrong, but my gut tells me she’s not far away from being orange-pilled.
