If someone makes plug & play software that allows anyone to self-host from a consumer-level PC (nobody is realistically gonna setup a dedicated Linux machine), then I'm all in because I'd MUCH rather store my own content in a folder on a local machine & allow public read access, but there are still streaming speed/bandwidth issues to solve. 🫴

One could upload videos to their own web server, but that'd get expensive with increased bandwidth; one "viral' vid & you're bankrupt. And even if you do that, your website can still be shut down. 🙃

Until a PC/Mac download → install → config → drag & drop kind of solution exists, this will continue to be a problem (this applies to relays too). 🫠

YouTube solves more problems than people realize, so until someone replicates their decades of R&D, I'll keep all my videos unlisted & use them for free hosting. 🤙
