From a survey of 500 folks who left Mastodon for Bluesky: about half of them mentioned content warnings, and most of those responses pointed to what they perceived as unreasonable expectations for content warnings. Several mentioned that they got scolded for insufficient content warnings by people who weren’t on their instance. Others said that their fear of unintentionally breaking content warning expectations or other unwritten rules of the Fediverse made them too anxious to post, or made posting feel like work.

In other words, the Fediverse has been taken over by Karens.

nostr:npub1t3ggcd843pnwcu6p4tcsesd02t5jx2aelpvusypu5hk0925nhauqjjl5g4 this is relevant to consider with what you were asking about earlier.

Oh perfect, thank you brother πŸ’œ

πŸ’œπŸ«‘

#noStr fixes this

Combination of clunky system, annoying user cyltures, bad onboarding experiences. People want to join, and immediately connect with friends and not get constantly told they are doing it wrong.

So being overbearing Nazis obviously kills a social experience, but my question is, can we have too much freedom? Are we on Nostr going to collective OD on the amount of freedom we have here?

Maybe because of my weak English I didn't understand very well but...

I'd rather live in somewhat dangerous freedom than live in peaceful slavery. πŸ€™

No, the difference is that we can always unfollow, filter, block, and limit our global views to "our network" plus +1 or +2 levels outside of our network.

Absolutely not. What you said sounds like a slavery mindset. Although, freedom does not mean absence of consequences for doing the wrong things.

Obviously I'm joking you stupid twat

I'm a bit slow sometimes. My mistake friend

No worries buddy

The proper solution, as always, is give people the tools to curate their own echo chamber without forcing it on them.

🎯

I always wanted to be on the social media equivalent of an HOA.

I ride my bike a lot. My least favorite pedestrians are dog walkers on their phones. My second least favorite are the karens that like to tell me how to ride my bike. I bet they would thrive on mastodon.

Slow down! Get off your bike and walk through the tunnel! Shout at every person you pass for their own safety! Use a content warning or I will speak to the manager!
