noStrudel would benefit from a product owner, someone to focus on user features and bugs and force me to finish them and fix the bugs instead of building cool new stuff

realizing I'm just a developer and its hard to keep myself focused on improving the small things in the app

I absolutely agree here. You're talented and intelligent and focusing on your skills would be best. Let someone else handle the product growth and user experiences.

You're not alone here. Many Nostr app devs fall into this category too. It's so very hard with such small teams. Everyone is doing their best though.

Still the daily driver on my fixed system

Get back to work!

Look at all these wasted key strokes!

Lol jkjk

Keep up the good work!

It’s great that you’re asking for what you need so that you can focus on what you do bes, which has already helped #grownostr so much and has so much yet to offer 💪💜🫡

I am actually looking for some remote work. About 20 hours per week. But I guess you are underfunded and unable to pay 🤔

yeah, this is just me complaining :)

probably you found something by now but if you are good at typescript and react nostr:npub1a3um269aaf3u5cy37kuykrrrnsg2pyv7za06pxjduv25lq5sdujs2qmdj6 is looking for you

Most apps on nostr can benefit from laser focus on improving the app vs adding on more buggy features.

Nah nah nah just send it to the backlog and keep shipping! :P

What if you had a list of bugs/features and people could zap whichever they care about? When completed you receive the sats.

*sighs*

Your product owner is you. But your CEO is every user. You're definitely talented, but . . . How about you )(*#$)(*#$ fix the things people have been complaining about for years now?

Don't stop doing new things, but . . . operate on a 1:4 ratio of fixing one thing to ever 4 new ones you create. Or, make it tighter (1:1) until you catch up with all the bugs. That way you can still build cool new stuff, but you also fix things that should be fixed, and, IMO, will have a better and deeper understanding of how to build better stuff in the future.

Our senior app dev nostr:npub1wqfzz2p880wq0tumuae9lfwyhs8uz35xd0kr34zrvrwyh3kvrzuskcqsyn is also our Product Owner, but that only works because he has so many devs that he can spend time assigning tickets and doing reviews and stuff.

He has to claw together crumbs of time to work on his own dev tickets, tho.

Do you need more motivation to finish things related to bugs and feature requests? You could use some governance model for user feedback. Direct user feedback can grow your motivation, you dont need a product owner for that otherwise your backlog will grow quite fast I think.

Its not so much motivation, but organizing and prioritizing things. there are so many views in the app that need to be redesigned and made simpler and its hard to know what should be done first. or maybe I should focus solely on bugs?

Let your userbase vote on the items on the backlog what they would like to see finished first?

15 years ago I remember I was using the tool UserVoice for this kind of curation.

Their plans start at $900/mo, ouch... Might have to build a nostr native solution if I wanted user voting

Wow damn, havent look into UserVoice since 2013 but it looks it’s not that good anymore 😝

A Nostr native alternative providing some of those features sounds logic 🤙🏻

hzrd looking at all the comments it looks like you’ve already got a product owner within your community of actual users

They clearly love what you do, are responsive, and want you to succeed

Why not ask your community to name their top 3 bugs… compile the list… and you’ll have a clear prioritised list of the most “popular” bugs

Just fix them in order… no cheating and doing the easy shit first 😉

80/20 rule… the first 20% of the bugs will solve 80% of everyone’s issues 👍
