Something is structurally broken in the economy.

The median age of homebuyers jumped 7 years from 49 to 56 from 2023 to 2024. Hitting a new all-time high.

This comes as the number of first-time buyers hit an all-time low.

Societies can't grow and prosper like this.

If you stack hard, you don't buy homes. 🤷

Boomers like real estate.

Real-estate is due for an almighty correction.

Da money

Prices have refused to reflect the new interest rates. Sellers have been listed in some cases for over a year without dropping any meaningful amount. I’m convinced a much more significant portion of our housing market is owned by the BlackRock’s of the world than is let on.

Boomers will boom

Wall Street hedging on homes

When rates drop demand will go up

Owners will refi

Prices going up

Owning property remains a priveledge like always

De-financializing real estate is going to have life changing impacts. Watching Bitcoinisation is going to be like watching a slow motion train wreck. With the one big exeption that once it is done, the world will be a better place.

Fiat at its core robs you of your time. Bitcoin gives it back to you

The Boomers have been scammed and overpaid for their houses. Their illusion of wealth will come tumbling down.

Eat as much as you can Zoomers!!!

Where you getting your numbers from?

My parents bought a home with normal jobs, this isn’t anymore possible. Now you need 4 jobs in marriage to get remotely close to it

Don't be a bag holder for boomers.

Sorry, English not my first language, could you rephrase that answer 😝

Okay, you just chose not to explain it nice!

The boomers need to now sell their overpriced stonks and houses, don't be their exit liquidity, stack sats instead.

Isn't that what government wants with property tax and all that? Just rent for your entire life

don't worry, trump and elon are on it!

WAY too much housing supply being used as a savings vehicle for the super-wealthy. Bitcoin fixes this. (but you already knew that).

It feels we are near a turning point and this trend will hopefully reverse once this fourth turning concludes.

This, the birth rate, debt, nihlism, etc. all circle back to a greater or lesser degree in each case to ‘fix the money, fix the world’.

This just proves the fiat system is crumbling—central banks printing money like it’s a game, inflating home prices to the moon while wages can’t keep up. First-time buyers are getting squeezed out, but Bitcoin fixes this! It’s a hedge against this broken economy—store your wealth in BTC, and you won’t need to wait until you’re 56 to afford a house. Stack sats now, escape the rat race, and let’s build a future where society actually thrives!

when a house isn’t a home but instead a savings vehicle

Hope the pendulum swings hard the other way! Saving in btc instead of houses will be the future and fix the problem

you should have read the book

The toy is breaking. Either they do the miracle or the system will change forever. And I think I know where we're going to go 🤔

Concerning signals all over the used car market as well

The problem lies in the premise. "Home buyers" is loaded, the idea that a metric, purchasing an industrially manufactured dwelling, should be a goal is the source of all this. A "home" is not an investment. Home is the place you belong, it's a living thing that you nurture. Calling them homes is a marketing term designed to sell the problem being caused here. They are dwellings. That's all. And you can make a dwelling yourself, turn it into a home, but we can't do that because of this ponzi scheme that we all (figuratively) bought into that we are in the end stages of right now. Of course it's out of reach for most people, it is abnormal.

this reduction of the individual to the function they perform for the establishment market has always seemed weird to me. renter, voter, homeowner, etc.

I wonder what the problem could be? 🤔

I wonder what the problem could be? 🤔

That’s insane & seems like a large transfer a wealth. Who benefits from this?

When I first saw this I read it as “homosexuals”. My first thought was that’s surprisingly late in life for someone to come out. My second thought was that’s a really weird statistic to track. It was so confusing I had to read it 3 times before I realised it was “homebuyers”. Made so much more sense then.

So yes. Back to the post. Bad news.
