Question for married nostriches,
Do you share a node or each run your own?
Same question for relays.
Thank you.

I think you're looking at an incredibly small sample size here😬😎.
I know, but I’m so curious. We are a single-node household and I have been previously criticized for not running my own, but it kind of seems pointless 🤷♀️
I'd tend to agree with that. 2 seems silly, for the same house!
Right? Although it would be more educational if I tried to run my own…
Yes, i suppose so, and would help the network in a small way. More decentralisation🙏🏻.
True 🫂
That really depends on if you would have your own bank accounts in a fiat standard. If you have a joint account, 1 node makes sense.
That’s a great analogy. I didn’t think about it like that and really should have
Es difícil que haya un nodo por persona pero si veo factible que haya un nodo por familia o grupo el día de mañana, en nuestro caso compartimos nodo con una comunidad
Yeah that’s how we do it. We have a family node
just like your bathroom.. if you have one toilet and sink, then you share. but if yoi have more, you each get one to manage
lol. I can share a node, but NEVER will share a bathroom again
One person winds up cleaning up the mess in all of them anyways… but at least each individual can shit in peace.
And puzzles and I share a shit schedule for some reason. We always have to poo at the same time and that caused MAJOR problems before we got multiple bathrooms
Share. But, I prefer CLN to LND so we each have our own LN instance on the same node. Same with our relay because we don't post too much.
Oooo. We just use LND for ours
we share. tagging tech support in case I'm wrong nostr:npub1pmhevxtlt3478pvmdqt7dftnv6zc2mzpdc569yjm6ks4k2jhezcs53uksr
I run my own. She needs to want to run her own.
Looking to start one lol we have nothing.
Points for cold stored butcoin?
Of course! Running a node isn’t easy. Have you heard of voltage?
I have not.
I was looking into either start9 or doing a nas. Or I don't need a server at all?

My husband is better at explaining 😂
Traditional marriage here. My wife allows me to think I'm in charge of everything. 🤷😂
Bahahahaha awwww 🫂
Hahaha, my wife doesn’t run either. I’m in charge of this area.
It seems to be the trend
It’s like your vinyl records, at some point they just merge 🙏🫂
My wife's not in the self custody camp yet -- still working on gradually getting her to bitcoin only. That said, I don't see why you'd have separate nodes. The one consideration I'd see is that you'd want to probably select something like Electrs instead of say, EPS for an electrum server, as EPS needs to do a full resync each time you add a wallet, so Electrs is more suited to multiple users (especially if you think you may be adding little hodlers into the mix...).
I wouldn’t be self-custody either if it wasn’t for my husband. I still have a lot to learn (he had a wicked head start). Right now, we are gonna keep sharing a node, but that Electrs thing sounds interesting. I never heard of it before
It's a simple thing to deploy, and is just an Electrum server. Basically just indexes the chain for faster access to the data your node is validating and storing. There's just a variety of Electrum server options these days, and some are bigger (for say, large nodes intended for large public use -- think Ledger or Trezor), some, like ElectrumX, also work with shitcoins (ew), and others stand out in their own way. EPS sounds great if it's JUST one person as it is a little faster and lighter, but Electrs hit the sweet spot for me.
Share. And I might start a mint the greater family can share, but I am not entirely convinced Ecash is a good idea yet.
I think it’s a great idea (shared mint for ecash) and I like the idea of ecash, but it still needs time and work. Right now (for me), it feels like a rug pull waiting to happen
we share the node but she isn't into nostr 😅
