Or to put it another way: Every major Nostr client appears more interrsted in pushing Bitcoin than Nostr (and actually I think thats probably true). I don't have a problem with that. But I am very confident the public at large will. Or at best will just not see it as a serious alternative to Twitter. I hope I am wrong, but reality is most people are either not interested in bitcoin or dislike it. So making zaps a major part of Nostr is not going draw people. But it may put them off.

The times I’ve mentioned nostr and described the feature of sending small amounts instead of likes everyone was very interested

It’s one of the main differences with other social networks, if anything it should be advertised more

Yea I’m very skeptical skeptical of people saying zaps are bad because bitcoin. We called them zaps not bitcoin, how would they even know what they are? It just sounds like projection to me and made up “facts”. Not calling anyone a liar as I know it can be easy to stretch the truth without much thought.

Well that maybe so, until you say ' you can only do it if you own bitcoin and also you need to set up a lightning node or integrate your bitcoin channels with custodial wallet etc...... ' then their eyes glaze over and the best you can do at that point is send them on their way to do some research. Even bitcoin enthusiasts (myself included) struggle to set up lightning nodes / channels. The principle is sound, the practice is so bad that its a turnoff to anything associated with it.
