The U.S. government recently sold a portion of the Bitcoin seized from the Silk Road case. In December 2024, $2B worth of BTC was sent to Coinbase for liquidation. A federal court has now approved the sale of the remaining 69,370 BTC (~$6.5B), with the process ongoing.
