Hello! I'm new! I'm a homesteading momma with a husband and 4 kids. My family has lived in a yurt for the past 10 years. We raise chickens, ducks, geese, goats, a mad Cow and her sassy Heifer.

In the past I would've considered myself a homesteader, but life has gotten the best of me and I haven't done much in the past year. I had to get rid of my chickens due to a lung sensitivity that made me unable to breathe. I have rabbits, but have been too busy to breed them for basically a year. The past year, I got so overwhelmed with busyness that I didn't do any of my annual gardening and just maintained my perennials. I love reading about homesteading and will hopefully get back to actively homesteading, but I can't contribute much right now.

We have rabbits and quail for our suburban homestead and are currently planning a move to some acres away from town in a few years. It was raw land so it will take some time to get it set up for us to move.
make sure you have everything set up there before you move it will make things so much easier. Ask me how I know. 😂
We had a well put in (right before everything froze ) and we now have a driveway that is passable for cars (not just 4 wheel drive) we still need to work more on it. But it is getting there. With only two of us working on it we have a ways to go. Baby steps 😊
