I strongly agree we need it to be easier and require less technical knowledge. Personally I trust apple’s keychain tech and I think that passkey is probably where things are going. If we could let you use that for nostr login to apps, services, and websites, then that’d not require users learning something new. If we need to write help text, and describe how it works, then it’s too complicated.

Yes exactly. A web application with a browser extension login is dead on arrival in my opinion. Since browser extensions don't exist on mobile, logging in with one defeats the whole purpose of a progressive web app being that is supposed to function the same way on any device.
Browser extensions DO exist on mobile, Nostore works on iOS for example. It’s just almost nobody knows it’s possible. I didn’t before last year.

In the long run, one of Nostr's most prominent issues will be simplifying key management enough for the non-technical end user to not be overwhelmed. I don't know if it's possible for clients to have NIP-07 built-in outright or if that requires formulating an entirely new NIP.
