What would you use as an alternative to OpenNode to accept #bitcoin and #lightning payments on an app? Lightning beer will be focused around creating and offering another real life use case for Lightning, but do not have the resources to build the app AND a payment infrastructure… any idea?

The simplest alternative would be to use nostr:npub15klkdfx9sh3y096a5jf895rcvkmkzvly2fm9dgxq6huqhp9576jsav4m73 and set up either nostr:npub155m2k8ml8sqn8w4dhh689vdv0t2twa8dgvkpnzfggxf4wfughjsq2cdcvg or @LNBits for a Point of Sale. For automatic liquidity management, set up Hydro using nostr:npub19tcpurtt6xulhw0r6sc404j9jraj0h8me2lzs7z2tqewz7l0hpas59nlea.
Well that was very interesting! I think in will need to improve my technical skills but that is a very interesting pack. I will launch on OpenNode and move to a BTCPay server as soon as possible. Thanks a lot.
This shouldn't involve any coding and most of this can be set up from right within voltage.
This is what we build nodeless for, it's like btcpayserver but all the node stuff and liquidity management is pulled out.
So it's the nodeless node as the central point and then recurring payments to the customers of it?
Breez wallet on an iPad or phone
Are they at a deep beta for business solutions?
Depends on your needs. I’d say they’re geared more toward small vendors/businesses, so if your needs are more complex then something like BTCPay server would be more robust. But then you get into node and liquidity management, although there are some companies like Voltage that have started offering solutions for that. Opennode is good for ease of use and conversion to USD and deposits to your bank. For what it’s worth with the Breez app, it runs a node on your mobile device so it’s self-custodial and doesn’t require any other device/node. By default it uses Breez’s LSP, but you have the option of connecting it to any other node you want. It has an integrated point of sale interface with NFC support, and Breez automatically manages channel liquidity for you (with associated fees of course when channel open/close occurs). It’s also primarily a lightning app. You can send and receive on chain, but you incur a swap fee when you do. Like I said just depends on your needs. Breez is perfect for a small/simple business that just needs a simple lightning point of sale. But I wouldn’t choose it if my needs were more complex.
Got it, very interesting, appreciate you patience for explaining. As the primary need for the project kick off will be to receive online payments vía the LightningBeer (meaning I need to generate a payment request for a specific amount of sats related to the amount of beers to be bought) I think that I will need to jump from OpenNode to BTCPay server… 🤔 As far as for the Breeze POS solution that is sweet, didn’t know that was possible. I would love to show that option to the actual store that will be providing me with the actual craft beer cans, maybe they are interested!
No problem! 🤙
Nodeless.io and we have an open source PoS app now for Android
All no KYC, semi-non custodial
I'd go with Nodeless.io
Super easy API to integrate with, and affordable from a serverless type integration for those handling less than $2000 in sales each month.
Above $2000 in routine monthly sales and it may be worth looking into Voltage and BTCPayServer
Zaprite
I think Breez wallet also has a point-of-sale mode in its app.
