Depends, personally i would recommend it using both but you need to set their settings properly. In Amethyst, i can set all relays enabled for my home feed while only enable some for global feed (paid relays + filter.nostr.wine + nostr.mom + nos.lol ). nostr.mom (more strict spam filter) and nos.lol have some spam filter, lesser spam compared to another free public relay

What flows into your feed,especially the global feed & who sees the notes you write depends on which relays you use. At the moment, it's all experimentation to see which ones work for you. A combination of free & paid relays seems to work for most people - it also depends on which client you use
If you're new and don't want to pay for relay subscription yet, I'd suggest
wss://nostr.mom
wss://nostr-pub.wellorder.net
wss://nostr.wine
(Wine is a paid relay but it's free to read posts from)
