So soapminer is doing their thing, I see people selling wine or crafts. What other types of businesses are being run via lightning payments? What do the people of Nostr want? I used to dabble in selling crafts, but I'm not sure what markets are out here now? Opinions are welcome!

I keep thinking if I get good at making meads, maybe I could corner the bitcoin mead market... Its orange!

But what people actually want? Probably art. Something that will last and be a conversation starter.

I would 100% buy mead. I freaking love a good honey wine 🍷🍾🥂

Identifying a hole in the market is easy when there is a visible marketplace. Like at a farmer's market you can see clearly that, for example, there's no mushroom stand. Is there a Nostr equivalent to seeing all of what's being sold?

There's a place in Amethyst where there are listings, but I doubt its comprehensive. Its also uncategorized, so it would be hard to find market data on specific things.

Mushrooms are a great idea, especially if you get a deal with a restaurant for regular supply. It would be great to see more stuff like that denominated in sats. I think this is probably where meetups really could shine - connecting bitcoiner farmers with bitcoiner restaurants or similar.

Could you share where on Amethyst the listings are? I haven't seen this and it would be cool to look at!

Thank you so much for this! New level of Nostr unlocked!

Ranching and beef :)

Oh you've got it made in the shade with all the carnivores here!

In general and Arguably, all businesses are Bitcoin/Lightning businesses…it’s just a matter of accepting such as payment.

Do you invoice in sats? Do you do any Nostr marketing or just general engagement? I love the idea of Bitcoin as a circular economy but feel overwhelmed, like waiting to jump in double dutch!

I invoice in sats if client desires to pay in BTC (or in some cases a stable coin) in which I then convert to Bitcoin

At the moment re: marketing, I believe relationships are greater than transactions.

So my marketing is subtle and focuses on:

3 C’s of Revenue

Content

Create more than consume

Conversations

Connect more than convey

Clients/Customers

Cultivate More than convert

As for you feeling overwhelmed; don’t be.

Don’t feel like you HAVE to transact strictly in BTC… 95% of the marketplace isn’t ready for that.

Offer it, encourage it (ie a discount if paid in BTC), support onboarding clients to Bitcoin via education and value add hand holding.

In other words, lead the horse to the water but don’t force its head under water…that’s a good way to get kicked in the teeth!

It doesn’t have to be fiat OR BTC…it CAN (and should be at this stage in the adoption curve) fiat AND BTC…not either or

Think both and solutions

Hey Kip, nostr:npub1pdm6f4kvr7sezj2yljz7xp2u0yxhnzxe3htzv64s3n0p9jc3lkmsjmmjzk is covering the development of the circular economy and questions like this.

Followed, thanks for the lead!
