But right now I decided to watch all of the Grudge movies. Like all of em all of em. And yes the Japanese ones are way better than the American ones, and there's some cool moments and angles and what not... But dude all of these are mediocre at best why does everyone love these so much?

But totally agree on French dispatch. I love Wes Anderson but with the just free it seems hit and miss.

If you liked Moonrise Kingdom. There was another film not Wes Anderson but very much in that style that came out in theaters at the same time and totally got overwhelmed.

The coolest thing about Avatar was it was the first real movie to use 3D backwards and pop the background deep into the frame. Instead of being gimmicky and pointing singing scary out towards the audience line so many movies before🤷🏽

Avatar made me physically ILL when I saw it at IMAX. It's not like it wasn't pretty... just the fervor of of the American Military Industrial Complex was a big too much for me.
The movie that comes to mind is Alien 3. The first thing it did was retroactively sadden the ending of Aliens. Ripley then marched to an inescapable death in a prison populated only by unlikable characters. Watching it left me in a dark place, wondering if I was wasting my life with my entertainment choices. My reaction to Leaving Las Vegas was similar.
