If AI product = 10x of previous product. What comes after the AI wave? I'm having a hard time imagining anything that is 10x over "give me this" and it's made for you.
Maybe that's it... you tell it, and it comes into existence?

That's going to be a boring world full of mega unhealthy people with serious MH issues and suicidal tendencies.
That said, this current AI wave isn't quite as good as the hype, imo. Maybe next time around.

Next thing is tapping into your subconscious and getting what it wants.
Designers, coders, copywriters will lose jobs
But, they can easily become “prompt engineers” on gen AI
Yeah. I’m already somewhat replaceable. Next wave I’ll be done probably
Do you think AI will also learn how to do UX?
Absolutely. Everything I do is basically pattern matching and referencing existing patterns. There’s no reason this can’t be done by AI.
there will always be different task for people
I wish I was as certain as you
we should embrace the future
maybe your job gets replaced
just look for some new trades
There is almost no limit to what cannot be automated to do a sufficient job. Either it’s automated or way we use it changes to accommodate that automation.
On a long enough scale our prospects shrink significantly.
i am optimistic, your life is worth living
i dont buy into the ai replace all humans theory !!!!
I don’t attach any emotional state to my statements. I’m don’t feel one way or the other and just state what I see.
i dont see a functional replicator
within 50 years
or what do you see exactly?
Ai managed bitcoin mining dao that produces its own ASICS?
yes until AI robots build their own mining farm
AI will be just in a baby state in my view
I'm not sure why we are talking about functional replicators
You're conflating two separate concepts. AI and machines can outperform humans at mental and physical tasks without negating our own value of life. He's just pointing out reality. That doesn't mean he has any negative emotions toward his own existence.
projecting your anxieties about your petty little existence on the world is not very helpful or mature
this is the central reason for the existence of faith - you know that the answer is out there, instead of this ridiculous pessimistic certainty that there isn't an answer
you are never gonna find an answer with that attitude
Faith isn't finding an answer. It's creating one without evidence and accepting it as fact even if it isn't. Replacing his attitude with irrationality like yours isn't an improvement. It's a downgrade.
I actually don't have an attitude about what I say one way or another. People like to assign their attitudes to my statements by projecting their insecurities.
They're conflating different concepts. One can acknowledge reality without relinquishing value of their own life and what they do with it. A painter can still paint even if AI bots can technically do it better. Will someone buy it? I don't know, probably. But there's a very real possibility that technology will eventually make life so cheap that it hardly matters.
I feel understood at last.
cheap life isn't worth living, so i would argue that this plastic replica stuff that you get from AI will get boring really fast, and if anything it will drive people back to the old ways more effectively than the best viral marketing campaign
Faith is an emotional state.
only a person who has no creativity would not understand that sometimes you know the answer sometimes just waiting for it to pop out of the air
there is a rational explanation for it too... the impossible is an absolute, so almost everything is possible, if you roll the dice enough times
so even though it sounds like magical thinking, that's only because you've never tried to solve a problem nobody solved before and succeeded
Faith is realizing not all truth is within your power to apprehend, by definition. It's first coming to terms with the existence of unknown unknowns. In the case of the Christian faith, it's understanding that it's impossible for a these unknowns to become known by definition (in the sense of fully understood) — and yet necessary to their definition (only a good, personal God can create people with any good in them) that they be made known (in the sense of revealed, apprehensible). This leads to hope — the idea that our souls might be fundamentally transformed to enter more fully into the mystery of the known (revealed) unknown.
That's a long winded way of confirming what I said. I'd also be cautious when claiming that things are unknowable. We now know a lot of things that were once unknowable. Faith is irrational belief in something without evidence. Do that if you want, but adding a lot of words and pseudo philosophy won't change that. Faith is an emotional state. It isn't based in reality or fact.
only someone who doesn't experience it thinks that, sucks to be you
Lol I used to be a Christian with a lot of faith and my life was absolutely worse than it is now. Thanks for playing. Really enjoyed the high IQ points.
so your life is better now because you think you can piss on other people's world views because yours is superior, right?
or is it that you are in some kind of social group where you get kudos for pissing on other people?
let's play a game, and find out what your weak point is so i can stick a nice big mind-spike into it
No, it's the opposite of what you said. If you haven't read Mere Christianity by Lewis, I recommend it as required reading for anyone who wants to talk about faith in an informed way.
Just because I haven't read your one proposed book doesn't mean I don't understand what faith is. This particular discussion is fruitless at this point, but thanks for it anyway.
ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find
never give in to evil but proceed ever more vigorously against it
They shrink infinitely, since robots can eventually outperform humans at everything. Tesla is already making massive strides in dexterity.
of course cuntage thinks that humans are replaceable because he's an elitist
why the rude words?
i think most people worry about
all the time they will have
and dont know where to find meaning and tasks
Rude is saying humans are replaceable
Rude is promoting the patently misanthropic scare propaganda of people like Noah Harare and Ray Kurzweil
To enjoy it you have to hate yourself, and believe that there is nothing better in the future, and it's a sign of a personality disorder
yeah it looks like a strange believe system
and i think you are right
Any human who does pattern matching and representation is replaceable
To get the next 10x, it feels like it would need to be something to do with the physical manipulation of atoms. Either on a grand scale (either fast or large) or in new ways (new material science, incredibly useful material properties). Perhaps AI is the stepping stone to achieving this?
Since most things have value because someone is willing to pay for it. Even soil on the group has value, but it is abundantly available so it is cheap, not even a sat. But if you pool in a lot of good soil, someone will pay for it.
Similarly AI will make certain things abundantly available. Then the other things will have higher value. You move on to working on other things. We all should look for how we can provide value to other people. There are an abundance of demand for so many things.
Wish I could edit this for grammatical accuracy.
I value constructive discussions with people that can go through with debates. I value finding people that align with the way I perceive the world. I value people who are as motivated as I am to build great organizations that will solve the biggest problems in the world. That's why I joined Nostr. This is where people that want to produce value exist.
Next step -> Ai make all movies, games, software, music.
Then ai will use robotic simple arms and wheels with a battery to move boxes in store, or make mcdonalds food and put things in the washing machne etc. Drive the buss. Drive the taxi.
Mby deliver food to area, then humans deliver the last 50 meters. Basically it will do more n more jobs..
I posted a question somewhat related a few days ago: I’m sure similar question was proposed when the digital camera came round. What does creativity mean now and in the future when you type in anything you want and generate any type of content? Video , photos, music, books etc Where are is the value add by the creator?
All I know is before when I’d want an image id have to buy it from one of many stock photo websites where I imagine a photographer is partially compensated for the image. Now I just type what I want to see and it’s there. Those people are losing significant income if not all of it. I’m not arguing that they are not shifting their focus elsewhere, but there is no argument that sales must be down for them.
Things just happen as you need them without you saying anything
