“silence is a statement. inaction picks a side. and when those lead to personal benefit, they are complicity.”

“silence is a statement. inaction picks a side. and when those lead to personal benefit, they are complicity.”

Remaining neutral picks the side of higher consciousness.
Nonsense... even buddha understood that by inaction, nothing is left undone. You're missing the latter part.
The master does not react, the master observes.
Sure, and the master is omnipotent and omniscient. Should probably be working on achieving that instead of advising it 🤷♂️
I work on that every day. It's hard, but its a daily goal.
Good, however it's understandable to get criticized for advising someone to do something which the adviser hasn't achieved. Especially when the context implies complacency towards the destruction of humanity.
Since Nostr likes ancient quotes so much, here's one from Plato. "The price good men pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men."

Bro I was just thinking this in relation to your silence re: Core's malfesiance
i have not been silent
learn how to use search
Sorry for giving you a hard time, I don't usually follow you but the recent bits I've seen haven't covered it. IMO this is existential priority #1 and you should be treating it as such, even if winning may be inevitable.
the fundamental concern of corporate dev capture is something i have been focused on mitigating for over three years
its why we launched opensats and why i donate my time to building it out without a salary
i talk about it all the time, both on here, and my two podcasts
winning is not inevitable
I believe you even if I haven't seen it. Been following you and TFTC loosely for the last few weeks on Nostr and Twitter and seemed avoided. Here's hoping I just missed it 🤷♂️
tftc is marty, i deleted my twitter, nostr only
my shows are rabbit hole recap and citadel dispatch - nostr:nprofile1qqs879mhq6kkuzh2wk57xdzanl76uem8d7hlyjd7v4a4jcm4u88d8ygpz3mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduq3kamnwvaz7tmjv4kxz7fwvf5hgcm0d9h8qctjdvhxxmmd873qy5 nostr:npub10atn74wcwh8gahzj3m0cy22fl54tn7wxtkg55spz2e3mpf5hhcrs4602w3
Thing is it isn't an existential priority which is why Matt has talked about it but not incessently. Of course if you follow somebody like Matthew Kratter you will believe that it is priority #1 but you would be wise to stop listening to him. Btw, have you asked Saylor what his thoughts on it are? He hasn't said anything on it as far as I know. I wonder why 🤔
Wait so you are saying Kratter is untrustworthy and Saylor is trustworthy in the same post? I don't see an explanation. Sounds like we have different values... I respect those who seek truth, not those who seek power.
Trust has nothing to do with. Good grief
Qe can both fully trust Matthew, but that doesn't mean he is right.
We can....
It doesn't mean he's wrong either... 😕
That's true and you can go ahead and continue to believe this is a crisis & wonder why people such as Odell aren't as concerned about it if you want. Odell, Saylor, Lyn Alden for example are not concerned and Lyn has talked about it quite a lot saying it's overblown. If you want to believe it's an existential crisis that's up to you, makes no difference to the rest of us
Furthermore, the idea that you should be okay with a single centralized party having dominance over one of the most important pieces of bitcoin software is ridiculous, even on the surface.
Well Luke should write his own software, all he does is take Core and add some patches. Kratter has on several occassions encouraged his followers to stop donating to OpenSats (Odells opensource/bitcoin developers fund) if they continue to fund Core. Kratter is a dickhead and leading people astray. He reminds me Roger Ver back in 2017.
Is this a book recommendation? Planning for a long flight with a hopefully sleeping baby and need something I can lock in to.
yes sir, its a great read
You’re 2 for 2 on book recommendations (Mandibles being the other). What else makes the Odell fiction book list? Should be consider Mandibles future-fiction?
I’m sure others have mentioned Red Rising to you but I think its very similar to Hierarchy. Like 6 lengthy books though and I know you’re busy.
The Mandibles is fantastic. If you like prepper style fiction - Patriots by James Rawles is great.
Also checkout Mysteries of the Bitcoin Citadel - Bitcoin's first Audio Drama (The Mandibles but Bitcoin Works).
Recommend highly, just returned from week in DC…waaay better than airline propaganda videos
hodling my opinion has been working wonders for me for sure
Great another book to add to my list
I’m horrified by the mob and yet sometimes pleasantly surprised when they push back on things.
Nice quote, and still most Bitcoiners wouldn't vote. Isn't that a silence statement as well?
" #Bitcoin means hope, it means family, it means savings."
Half way through this one. Too many parallels, it’s as if Islington is a bitcoiner/anarcho-cap…
oppression thrives in quiet corners, your silence feeds the system, convenience is complicity.
