I get zero interaction though...

A simple scroll through your profile:
• The posts kinda look scripted with the short line and then bunch of hashtags, people might be passing it off as a bot.
• Posts are not very frequent, takes a bit to catch attention from someone who wants to engage if they aren’t sure who you are (trust networks are big here, this is why it’s a lot of bitcoiners)
• You don’t seem to be engaging with anyone, I would encourage more conversation and replies. In fact had it not been for this comment, I might not have had any clear indication that it wasn’t just a political post bot.
• Follow more people. Because there is no algorithm or “curated experience” for new users, everything is dependent upon following a large group for good posts, and then engaging with them.
It’s a little different than social media, because they actually do a lot to cater the experience so that certain things get engagement and that new users are pushed in particular directions and find a “community” to get angry over the same things to keep them locked in. #Nostr is a raw social network. It doesn’t have those things. It’s kinda like joining a huge party where you don’t know anyone. You gotta go up and talk to people and meet them. Not many scroll the global feed just looking for good posts I don’t think. So if you don’t engage, you likely won’t reach many people.
That’s my 2 sats. Hope this helps man.
That’s why I was initially turned off by Nostr, it seemed like nobody really cared about my pictures. The thing is, it was years ago that I had gotten rid of my old Facebook account and I barely cared about that anyway, so Nostr just felt like too much work.
Obligatory engagement so people know I’m a real boy 🤥
Suggest you spend time following and replying to other people’s content a bit more, you’ve got to build up followers or nostr will feel empty as no-one is seeing your content.
Also try posting things that interest you rather than just real world stuff and follow those who interact. You’ll find like minded people to grow your network easier this way.
Couldn’t agree more. I see the “notes” vs. “replies” numbers in the same way we used to see “K/D Ratios” in multiplayer video games. Your Replies/Notes should be as positive as you can manage 😂🤙🏻
Hey there fellow
Think about the number of “notes” vs “replies” you have. I think the balance should be heavier on the replies.
Everyone wants interaction, everyone wants someone to read their notes and engage with them. So do it first. Spend all your time trying to reply and build the ideas, jokes, notes, and other stuff people put out and you’ll build friendships here.
Do that long enough and people will see you and your npub as trusted, and start engaging with you more.
If you’re at a social event and stand off in the corner just lurking talking to yourself do you expect a lot of people to come up and talk to you? You would do better to go into the crowd and initiate or join conversations. Same on Nostr. Follow lots of people and engage with their posts and start interacting in threads that interest you. People will start interacting back and following you.
Follow your heart, find accounts and posts you like, and communicate with them. Share your life. When you're ready to post, bring your # hashtags with you 🫂💜
Post things you like, join in other peoples’ chats, enjoy yourself.
If there’s nothing going on, do some irl.
At least that’s how it works for me. I’m not a dev or a finance person…
Also everyone here really likes Justin Trudeau so you may want to rethink the bio…
He's fine asf
My hunch is that people assume you are selling stuff. "buy t shirts" and "learn skills fast on our YouTube" feels like an advertising account.
I would take that out of your profile. A link to a business and/personal website is one thing, but sales pitches and taglines in the bio is another.
I doubt it's entirely your fault. My experience with Nostr (especially on Android) is that it takes more effort to keep tabs on folks I follow if their name doesn't happen to be at the forefront of my mind. Most of my feed in Primal and Amethyst are notes from people who happen to be posting right now. On desktop this is less of an issue since I can save and sort npubs as browser bookmarks in designated subfolders.
I've seen quite a few posts since joining that recommend using the repost button sparingly. I think this is a double-edged sword. Reposting too much can clog up a follower's feed with multiple copies of the same note, but never reposting limits the exposure of a quality note.

It just takes time.. hell I was posting to Twitter with 2400 followers and not getting any interactions either so.. just engage with people and spend time here. Things will fall into place
Need more 'scary clown'-type content
When I say 'scary clown' I'm talking about psychotic clowns. Grinning with fixed pupils. People like that shit (or at least I do)
