It's funny that some of the smartest people in their domain of expertise are clueless when it comes to understanding money.

They might be in the top 0.0001% of their chosen subject matter - they might even be multidisciplinary - and yet they can't tell you what money is and where it comes from.

Maybe because such people ofter owe their position to fiat. Their employer is the state of the employer of their employer is the state. That is true for many intellectuals

Agree, but surely their intellectual curiosity would make them want to understand it.

I'm no expert, but what I know I learnt through curiosity. I had no negative experience (fiat rug pull, financial crash etc) that led me to go down the rabbit hole.
