I considered Arch, but stayed with Debian, but I can't remember exactly why. I think I started reading about issues people had with rolling updates, or just ran into installation wonkiness.

I was distro shopping awhile back, and most distros I tried did not install properly. I was a bit surprised, since they were all popular, and installation hasn't been an issue for the distros I've used in the past (which includes Slackware).
