Physio appointment booked.

Last few training sessions (running specific) have been cut short due to my right leg muslcles (calf and shin) getting so tight I basically have to stop running. This is only after a few km of running!

Never had any issues before, feel like I'm ripe for an injury if I push it too hard. Need to figure it out. πŸ‘Ž

I like running as much as the next psychopath, but too many injuries left me unable to do consistent distance. This recent chat made me not feel so guilty hanging it up for other exercise

Thanks for the recommendation! Will add this to my listen list πŸ€πŸ™

You need a foam core roller to relax the muscles, and/or do some yoga and pilates.

I do actually have a roller, but I don't use it that much. Maybe I should try a roll before a big workout.

I just don't understand why all of a sudden though...😭

the lactic acid builds up and also testosterone doesn't help. a warm pad might

I might try another run tomorrow with a roll before and after. I hope it's something that simple, honestly...

roll after a workout too

magnesium can help loosen muscles as well

Hmm interesting, I'll look this up. Not something I supplement currently πŸ€”

lack of magnesium is what causes muscle cramps. it doesn’t need to be a regular occurrence in your arsenal, just when you suspect tight muscles. Natural Calm is a fantastic product.

Appreciate the recommendation, Im going try incorporating this when Im doing more running than usual!

Tight leg muscles can pull your knee out of ideal forward hinging. I'm stretching all 4 sides of each leg and using magnesium brine spray to relax the muscles.

-Put foot on couch and inner thigh stretch

-Sit legs flat on ground and try to touch toes (loop towel below toes and pull to help)

-Do the 'couch stretch' shin lines up on back of couch, lean back towards foot

-For outer leg, put right leg over left hip/shoulder and loop towel below toes with a slight twist so that it's pulling the toes in as you stretch

Thank you! Actually tried some couch stretch's today and it felt good.

I've also been leaning against the wall standing with legs out at about 45 degrees and trying to point my toes towards my knees. It's giving me a good stretch on those shin muscles.
