Oh god, don't ever do that. If you just saw some AI slop you're doing okay. It's the Fediverse stuff coming over from the Mostr bridges that you can't unsee. That stuff is reeeeally rough.
Sidenote, I wish there was a setting where you can mute all mostr stuff, but then make specific exceptions that don't fal under the rule.
What are you talking about? Fediverse stuff is normally interesting I find. I find it's the random RSS and news bots from Nostr that produce the most worthless slop.
Some Fediverse content is interesting and I like some bridged accounts, but some really awful shit comes from the Fediverse. Before Nostr I was on an instance that did not moderate content (which is generally a good thing), but you just knew to stay the hell away from the global feed.
What instance were you on? I'm pretty sure every ActivityPub instance moderates their own content.
Libredon, which to be fair, that instance was free speech focused. They all moderate, just to different degrees. Mastodon dot social is heavily moderated from what I remember. They don't federate with a good chunk of the network, so if you are on Mastodon you aren't seeing everything being pushed to the global feed because they outright block certain instances. I don't know if Liberdon did instance level blocking or not
Damn, in their code of conduct Libredon says they don't even allow slurs.
Sorry, I only know what the Nostr global feed looks like. I have never seriously used the Fediverse.

Npubs can blacklist relays and then clients can weed those out. I think there's an event for that.
And follows would override that, of course.
Well, some people you follow might use the big relays for outboxes, so you would still go there for that, but not for strangers.

Do you know which clients support that?
