You can edit and delete. Some clients just don't support it.
The issue is that some relays might not delete your events or return older versions of the post.
Buy an Android and use Amethyst. Edits are everywhere :)
I did notice a note get edited live as i was talking to a person while on a non-Amethyst client 😅🤣

You are still imperfect when you edit. Your past is logged forever.
Is there a way to see edits, also it seems that editing on Amethyst doesn't show as edited when notes are viewed via other clients.

How well does it work across other clients and relays?

Yeah, that's why I prefer to write to my own relay.
The notes still propagate, but not as far, as fast. And I can hard-delete the file, rather than just submitting a deletion request.
And my relay has the newest versions.
I hate when I update a wiki page or my zap wallet in the profile event, or something, and other relay operators refuse to honor that, so that people are looking at outdated information.
