It is, but I don't know how accurate their data is because most kids write older age and still open everything. Maybe KYC is the bigger problem.
When Digit first started talking to me and invited me to the wallstreetbets Discord server (because I was banned from the subreddit again and she felt bad for me), I immediately got banned from the Discord server for saying I was 7 years old to someone asking my age.

Shitcoin casinos have perfected KYC to the point of it being actually not that annoying. I recently did KYC on binance and it all took around 1 minute. Picture of passport, look into camera and turn head and done ..
I can see 99% of people complying with this kind of KYC on every major platform.
Hopefully AI will be able to mess it up and buy us some time, but I am not so sure. Nobody cares if small % of "criminals" are able to game it. All that government wants is majority of people not being able to game it and all that corps care about is showing to gov reasonable effort to comply.
(I worked on huge KYC project in "systematically important" bank. It was complete shit show, but nobody really cared as long as sb could do nice prez about how much money was spent on KYC)

I agree. Take for example this “state mandated course” for educators called Child Abuse Prevention. The state charges $11.99 (a tax on teachers). If they gave a shit, it would be a free program.

I'm convinced that child safety isn't the actual motivation. Creating a child-safe Internet after the fact is a fool's errand. Moral or not, if it's not a whitelist-based site or content filtering approach, it's child safety theater.
Political actors are newly desperate to get tools of control in place for other uses. Child safety is merely the convenient tool for inserting the tip of the wedge.
This is all happening now because politicians are unwilling to push back against any kind of child safety legislation. People are hyper-vigilant over signals that connect politicians to Epstein, and that makes the politicians anxious. This situation presented a rare opportunity.
