Hey any bitcoiners out there wanna explain to this boomer why I keep getting an error message when I try to set up a lightnjng wallet on blue?
Says LnD hub not accepting but I ain’t tryna run no node so…wth?

Blue and Lightning have never been nice to me. But I’m also kinda an idiot…
Bluewallet is sunsetting LNDHub. If you want a custodial solution I like Wallet of Satoshi or LNTipBot if you use telegram.

I like using Wallet of Satoshi, it interfaces well with nostr apps
Wallet of satoshi won’t let me register either keeps saying error try again…I may just be tired…

You don’t have to register with Wallet of Satoshi. You just download the app, go to Receive, and you should see an address that looks like this:
bronzeping54@walletofsatoshi.com
Paste that into your lightning tips and you’re good to go
#[3] has a broken onboarding process. I called this out yesterday when I was trying to get a friend signed up and it kept canceling. They said they’re fixing it in the next release.

Your lightning address is not configured...
1. Download a lightning wallet which supports lightning address like Wallet of Satoshi
2. Open the wallet and hit “Receive”
3. Go to the tab “lightning address”
4. Copy the address
5. Go to your profile and paste the address into the field “Bitcoin lightning tips”
6. Voilà - let the magic happen 🪄
Blue wallet has announced that they are going to stop supporting that function. You will only be able to use lightning with blue wallet if you run a personal Lnd node. I would propose for you to use Muun wallet. It supports on-chain and lightning and it is non-custodial, which means that only you have access to your sats 😉
Can also use blue wallet with alby and lntipbot. I have used it and it works

I think Phoenix is a better lightning wallet. BlueWallet is custodial which comes with rug pull risk. Phoenix is non custodial and very user friendly.

Use wallet of Satoshi, great wallet. I think your need a static address (lnurl).
BlueWallet no longer offers its own Lightning node, so the best trick I’ve found is to sign up for LightningTipBot on Telegram and then link it to Blue using the LNDhub QR code that it gives you.
The thing you need to get for Nostr is a Lightning Address (LNURL) that allows you to receive ⚡️ zaps to your profile.
Fortunately there’s like 10,000 people here who will help. 😁💜🤙
BlueWallet has ended their offering of custodial lightning wallet options on their platform. However, a lightning wallet that is connected to you own node will still work.
BlueWallet lets you import wallets from other sources besides your own node. To get a Lightning Address you can connect it with either Alby or LightningTipBot. Just takes a few minutes to set this up. ⚡️✌️
You need a “permanent address” LNURL. Wallet of satoshi is the easiest way to do it!

LNDHub is OK for starters, but it's custodial. Eventually you want to run your own node.
Blue stopped supporting custodial lightning. As others have said, the easiest way to activate zaps is wallet of Satoshi. Unfortunately, that's also custodial
What mobile apps aren’t custodial? I seem to remember acinq’s eclair being custodial, not sure if that’s still around?

Isn't eclair a lightning implementation? I have a lightning node but can't fetch invoices via LNURL from it bc it's behind my local network. I connect to it and manage different LNbits accounts via #[4] but that's as far as I've gotten

No you can’t right now. Technically, lnurl is tricky with non-custodial solutions
What makes it tricky?
My understanding is that the receiver has to be online to receive payment which is no problem for custodial wallets like WoS bc they are a company with a large node. But bc phoenix is literally a small LN node in your phone, you can’t count on having the phone on and app open whenever users want to receive lnurl payment
I'd like to receive zaps directly to my lightning node, which IS always online. Can't figure out how to get LNURL to work with it tho. There must be a way.
It doesn't get any easier and more user friendly than the LN.tips and BlueWallet combo @calle suggested, especially If you are using Telegram for any any support chats. (can send sats there just by typing /tips)
Just my opinion - a true Bitcoiner would stay away from @Wallet of Satoshi just on principle - they are beyond custodial as they require you to run Google Play Services on Android for their wallet to even function - a match made in NSA heaven!

Haven’t a clue. For small sums, wallet of satoshi works seamlessly on iOS. But it requires trusting a third party, which means it will work great right up until it doesn’t…at which point they will walk away with all your funds.

As far as I know blue wallet will not support lightning soon. Verify that, but if so best to choose another lightning wallet.
