Most people that get into crypto aren't actually scammers. They're just noobs that don't know any better. It's better to educate them. 🤝

It was most Bitcoin Maxi's paths. Education is key.
In a moment of embarrassing reflection back, I remember explaining proof of stake a few years ago and how it will require less energy etc.
Now I just think…wow.
I also got bored of dapps since all anyone could build were “decentralized” exchanges to trade their own bullshit OR a web board that required $800 of gas fees to say “hello”.

This is actually one of the most important discussions to be able to have with someone new to bitcoin IMO. When people enter this space it's easy to see why they are taken by other coins, by insulting them it puts them on the defensive right away. This makes it harder for them to be swayed by your words, no matter how brilliant you think your argument for bitcoin is.
I'm as much of a maxi as anyone, but I always try to handle conversations with new people excited about thinking in "blockchain" delicately. Most people aren't swayed as well through argument as they are through conversation.

The difference is, there is no CEO of bitcoin. It’s an open protocol with rules that no one can change. Eth changes itself all the time and in doing so, creating uncertainties for it’s reliability and monetary rules. Eth = move fast break things

I think the most constructive retort here would simply be to question why it's necessary to use whatever novel token exists for whatever use case, when Bitcoin exists and supports all of those use cases and is backed by the most proof of work, with ongoing contributions from the most active, veteran developers both to the core protocol, L2s, and the surrounding ecosystem.
I'm reminded of the altcoin boom of late 2017:
To think bitcoin is the only thing that matters is giving the average person too much credit.
The alt market will become important overtime because average people will keep voting for it. Even If bitcoin is the more important fundamental technology.

Totally agree, there are only Bitcoin and on the other side, crypto scams. One is the innovation that started an economy revolution and the others are just the usual fiat Ponzi scam dressed of "wanna be" the next innovation, trash advertising and future broken dreams. And people that don't understand that are just dumb or just the scammers speculators that want to get advantage from that
Maxipads and blockchain enthusiasts in general really fkin hate decentralization.
They want 1 coin. They only support 1 currency 7project. They only want 1 grand unified ledger. Distributed, not decentralized. They only want Bitcoin to be their monopoly money, their store of value, their means of exchange.
If you want a blockchain enthusiast to shriek, mention availing of Nostr's ability to akshually enjoy a decentralized data layer. Global public firehose with relays all backing each other up would make Nostr centralized and distributed, like Bitcoin, not decentralized like Nostr.
