There's nothing like pushups, really. I could give advice as someone who has not good shoulders due to doing way too many in the army, but it's really hard to not recommend them since they are all too effective.

But you could do arm stuff with lighter ones.

Don’t give up on them. Just do less for now.

My wrists aren’t great, I think from years of playing piano. I can’t hold a single handled heavy pan without support. I might try some wrist strengthening exercises before attempting traditional pushups again.

How about light dumbbells and do floor presses
