OMG! It’s the patron dish of the American South. I don’t use a recipe any more when making mine, but here’s the link to the base recipe that my own recipe evolved from: https://www.saveur.com/culture/best-way-wash-dishes/. Main difference is that I use vanilla bean paste, cinnamon, nutmeg, and all spice in mine.

Grilled cheese on homemade sourdough.

How long did it take you to figure out the sourdough?

Sourdough is 100% my wife's skill. She's had the same starter going for years now. Today's loaves were rye and flaxseed. My personal favorite is spelt flour. It's expensive but makes a dense richly flavored loaf.

Dinner tonight. Pasta and ragu pasta sauce with crushed tomatoes from our garden that we froze for the winter.
