One piece of context to add... when was this conversation had in that timeline?
The video was published in 2010 on YouTube and they talked about the 2008 crisis. So it had happened somewhere between that.
Also in the video they are talking about [Monetary Base](https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/BOGMBASE) and not [Total Assets](https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/WALCL) depicted in the video.
