Out of curiosity what’s your favorite way(s) to process anger?

My preferred ways:

1) Buying some of the ugliest breakables from a thrift store. Smashing them in an empty parking lot. Then I sweep it all up.

2) Going for a run or swim until my rage is exhausted and I’m having trouble breathing.

*I used to stress smoke cigarettes but I don’t allow myself to do that anymore. I feel like there must be a physiological reason why being out of breath calms me down.

3) Music.

Brooding and pouting.

Honest. I don’t sit well with anger.

Shit posting on Nostr

🤣

Music and lifting or a walk in nature. Also I am good at going to bed angry then starting the morning like a fresh day uneffected like a psychopath 😂

Maybe like hangry, you just get tired anger.

Yea weird it happens and I wake up fine. I like that you at least avoiding destructive stuff like the cigarettes. If I ever drive by an empty parking lot and see someone smashing stuff you will now come to mind 😂

I try to wait until nighttime. Go to a parking that won’t have random drive-bys. I had the police inquire what I was doing once. That time I had a tarp and a baseball bat. Smashing the hell out of the most offensive porcelain I could find. There was this one porcelain dog that looked so creepy and possessed. Anyway, I explained. They were just like, alrighty then and drove away. I think they were just like well better for us to have one less angry woman on the loose.

😂

😂🤣😂 The world is better off. It was ugly as sin.

1 - never heard of that, should give it a try lol

2 and 3 for sure, especially on my bicycle

music always does the trick

1. in a very stressful situation i walk away and take some deep breaths. I'm using the WimHof technique in a lot of different situations (better sleep, workout, meditation, coldshower, ..).

2. doing a nice workout

3. music - sometimes hard stuff, but classic could be also very good

smoking

metal and dubstep

I have pretty deep seeded anger. Therapy has helped a lot. But for me having a creative outlet helps.

I write music.

Or stress cook. (My roomate knows im stressed when I make a multi course meal on a weekday)

Or workout

And probably my worst coping mechanism, smoke weed. Hard to be angry with the munchies.

I will stress clean sometimes. Not really in response to anger but just processing stressful situations.

There're some video games that require your near %100 attention, you don't have processing power left to think about anything else, like some real time strategy games. I play those.

Gym. Cycling. Shooting range.

Ooo I did skeet shooting once. 12 gauge pump action shotgun damn was that satisfying to watch the clay pigeons just smash in the sky.

I should buy a shotgun and skeet shoot again. I had to sell my shotguns to pay some attorneys fees years ago.

I’ve only been the once. But I shot so long that day I had a bruised shoulder. It was actually when I was a depressed angsty teenager. I went to Boy Scout camp with the explorers club from my high school. The next day I asked my parents if I could have a shotgun and they were like not only no hell no. The paper ran an anniversary tribute to Kurt Cobain’s death that morning. So epically bad timing.

Moving that energy in your body and with yoga, stretching and breathe work. That's the ticket for me. I used to rage hard back in the day, I'm clear of that now. It feels wonderful and I'm proud of myself.
