i don’t know who needs to hear this, but open source code is customizable. If someone changes something you don’t like you can just revert it

99.9999% of ppl who download binaries do not understand that.

Your assuming these people can read code.

Which makes it worse, a giant case of bikeshedding

or just fork it

is this in terms of op_return ?

if so how do you revert blocks that are consensus approved but rejected by your node initially ?

The op_return changes have nothing to do with consensus code

But due to network effect, most passive node runners likely upgrade out of habit, not being aware of impact of PRs. It takes assertive effort to switch to a different node like knots, which will be smaller.

Doesn't a fork solve this?

You can run your mempool however you want but my node won’t propagate your ridiculous parameters.

Ok? There are 10k+ relays that will. Not to mention libre relays and miner apis. It’s like trying to stop the flow of a river with a fence.

If you want to make a difference, stop virtue signalling and actually make a soft fork proposal to block said spam.

I needed to hear it… it was me, everyone… it was me…

True, but to me bitcoin core pushing now shitcoins/spam seems to be like a general major cultural shift.

not true

Why?

What does “bitcoin core pushing shitcoin spam” mean. Lots of people work on bitcoin core, including me at times. This statement doesn’t reflect my opinion at all. This is pure propaganda

I don’t think that’s an accurate high level description of standardness policy discussions. Mempool acceptance and relay policy has kept shitcoining to a minimum but that’s easily bypassed and such bypasses have negative consequences for node runners and miners.

At the end of the day, if non-standard transactions breaks bitcoin, bitcoin wa ms dead from the start. Policy can only work for so long to prevent problems that are better handled at the consensus level.

Yes sure . Thank you for letting us know . When the system is worked and no

Bugs and no calamity , I tend to keep the system as long as I can .

And lose any security updates.

Simple 🤷‍♂️
