People are awesome.

Yes, I used to hang out with Esperantists for a while. But time has shown that this language is more dead than alive. The only thing that has been useful to me since then is the knowledge of common European word roots. Thanks to EO, I literally know what words I'm seeing for the first time in my life mean or can mean.

You should see our secret shitposting societies on Telegram.

Esperanto is very much alive. It's sadly not as alive as many of us would want.

I think even in the '00s it was more alive than it is now. The Internet hasn't done much to help Esperanto's popularity grow.

Couldn't say. I very much started learning it in the last few years, but I've really had no trouble finding people to talk to online.

Aside from that I think it's a really useful language, mentally. Extremely versatile and flexible, suited for many situations, and generally awesome to use.

It's magical to scroll through your feed and read all the notes without realizing that most of them are from people with completely different languages. This becomes more evident when you use some other client.

The quality of LibreTranslate translation is terrible, and DeepL is very expensive.

I won't stop spamming about the language

Plot twist, they translate English to Esperanto with AI to communicate.

I love this language is like coding

Or math but in language
