Hey Moron!
Decided to check up on you, i'm the guy that replied to your initial youtube video; as you might imagine watching that first video of you installing Snort and Spring, instead of picking either Primal, Amethyst of Yakihonne from that list of apps was tragic haha. Glad to see you made your way to primal and managed to get going
Thank you also for documenting the process you are going through installing the app, and giving this type of feedback, its very helpful to my understanding how newcomers experience all this stuff.
My response:
How do I get this across....Lets say two things are true at the same time:
First, its not a platform, Primal is not a platform, Nostr is not a platform...relays can act as platforms, perhaps, but you have to realize you are arguing against the ephemeral clouds here. Its not much different than saying that there is too much bitcoin content on the internet, that there are too many bitcoin websites etc. Its silly because Nostr is not ''a space'', not a platform like i mentioned, its a system facilitating freedom of association in all kinds of different ways (tweets, pictures, videos, chatgroups, livestreaming, code creation, recipes, apps, games, all the various things people use the web for).
Bitcoiners just happen to be the initial community adopting Nostr, and tweets the first type of usecase, so it is dominant among al dozen Nostr users out there; yet other non-bitcoin people and stuff is out there, perhaps a bit harder to dig up due to circumstance. Same things goes for any ''way of posting'', but as you already mentioned you will just stick with your way, and that is the precise correct attitude; we don't share 'a space' here, there is infinite interoperable space for everything to just exist next to each other.
Second (and true at the same time); I understand that as a new user, with 0 intuition what on earth it even is what you entered, everything is just very ''de facto''. There is this app, Primal, and thats ''the thing'', and the onboarding facilitated by that app is ''the thing'', and the people you initially see using that app, is ''the thing''. That fact this notion that there even is a ''thing'' is a mirage of your own imagination, is of no value/concern to you, because you are ''user'' with ''user experience'' and ''user expectations'' from ''the thing''; and if any of it is not to your liking you will simply move on to another ''thing''.
I recognize all of this, but this is a concern for the app developers/Primal on how to cater to you as a ''user'', but there are also so many different apps, so perhaps ''you'' (the general you, not perhaps you specifically) are simply not using the ''right app for you''.
Me personally? My concern is elsewhere. Im the crew that will call you a moron from not instantly understanding the new paradigm you stumbled into( 😜) , and won't let you rest easy in comfortable misconceptions and misunderstanding. Il guide you to a new intuition on this new paradigm, such that you can confidently navigate on your own. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
PS: On using other apps: thats what that ''remote login'' feature in Primal
is for, to log into other apps without having to transfer your keys, try it out!
PPS: Funny that nostr:nprofile1qy88wumn8ghj7mn0wvhxcmmv9uq3qamnwvaz7tmwdaehgu3wd4hk6tcqypg2v0x2zkckkcxn9xuj7c5vgvkgcyngndq0a8gyjh4cx66l9hmrwa09369 and you found each other. You both made a youtube video around the same time on how you started looking at Nostr, and i contacted you both to get you guys up to speed, and it seems you 2 are both doing just fine so im very proud :)
